Message from the President
Dear NCLOA Members, September/2007
Although the 2008 lacrosse season is still six months away, it is time to start considering a fitness program to get in shape. I am sure that most of us could stand to drop a few pounds or improve our overall conditioning. In an effort to help some of the members who aren't sure what they should be doing, we have enlisted the help of a professional trainer, Mr. Joe Cunneen of Bethpage Physical Therapy.
Joe is currently the athletic trainer for some local high schools including Bethpage, Farmingdale and Sayville and is a well respected trainer and therapist.
He will be writing a short column that will appear on the web site over the next few months giving tips on nutrition, stretching and weight training. This is going to be geared towards helping you prepare physically and hopefully to prevent injury. If an injury exists or if help is needed during the season, Joe can also be of help in this regard. He has worked with a few of our members including Ray Buckley and myself.
Please take advantage of Joe's advice or pursue your own fitness program. It will not only improve your game but also your health and hopefully insulate you from injury during the season.
